Awards

Specially designed medals will be given out to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place male, female, and non-binary in both the 5k and 5 Mile events in the following age categories:  Overall, 7-10, 11-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80 plus 

The Dave Gworek Memorial Trophy is given out to the top male and female Southington finisher in the 5 Mile Race

The Tony Manning Memorial Trophy is given out to the top male and female Southington finisher in the 5 K Race

The Chris Sanchez Memorial Trophy is given out to the top Southington High School Soccer finisher.

1st thru 5th place medals will be given to 4th and 5th grade boys and girls in the Y CUP 1-Mile Run

1st thru 15th place medals will be given out to Middle School boys and girls in the Middle School 5K.

1st thru 3rd place medals will be given to male and females in the Chamber Corporate Cup

Overall trophy given out to top elementary school in the Y CUP

Overall trophy given out to top middle school in the Middle School 5K

Overall trophy given out to top business/agency in the Chamber Corporate Cup

Little Fritter Fun Run participants will receive a medal.

$200 for record breaking performances in:

  • 5K - Male (16.03)          Female (18.42)
  • 5 Mile - Male (24.33)     Female (27.31)

 

Little Fritter Fun Runs

Sponsored by MT Southington

Always a fun and spirited event at the Apple Harvest Road Race

A variety of options, ranging from 50 yards to two laps around the Town Green are offered.

For ages 2 to 6

Little Fritter Fun Runs begin at the conclusion of the 5K/5Mile events.  Approximately 9:45 to 10:00 a.m.

YMCA Staff coordinate smaller races by age and ability.

Participants receive a medal (one medal per person)

1st 250 to sign up for Little Fritter Fun Run receive t-shirts.

 

Chamber Corporate 5K

Sponsored by Southington Chamber of Commerce

Local businesses and organizations sign up teams of at least three members (male and female) to compete for the Chamber Corporate Cup

5K starts with regular AHRR 5K at 8:45

Middle School 5K

6th, 7th, 8th graders compete for individual's awards.  Top 15 boys and girls receive medals.

Kennedy and DePaolo compete for the Middle School 5K Cup.

5K starts with regular Apple Harvest Road Race 5K at 8:45

 

Color Fun Run/Walk

Colorful addition to our Apple Harvest Road Race offerings!

1.5 miles - ideal for family fun

Get 'color blasted' at stations along the route.

Starts at 8:30 a.m.   Meet at the Y at 8:00 a.m.

Limited to 150.  Sign up before Sept. 15 and receive a free t-shirt to wear on October 6th!

Y CUP 1-Mile Run:

The Y CUP 1-Mile Run is back for 4th and 5th graders.

1st thru 5th place medals for 4th and 5th grade boys and girls will be awarded.

Children in Southington elementary schools compete for the prestigious Y CUP. 

NOTE:  Registration is limited to 150 participants. 

Derynoski Elementary School was the proud winners of the 2023 Y CUP! 

 

Community Teams are also back!

  • Team SMSAA (Southington Middle School Athletic Association)
  • Team Tyler in honor/memory of Tyler Chamberland
  • Team Adam & Jim in honor/memory of Adam Levin & Jim Maffiolini
  • Team Ralph in honor/memory of Ralph Mann

Please contact John Myers (jmyers@sccymca.org) if you would like more info on honoring a loved one as a community team.  It's also a nice way to race money for specific charities/causes.

 

Some 'cool' stuff about the Apple Harvest Road Races:

First 750 registered to receive specially designed t-shirt.

All Color Fun Run participants who sign up by September 15th receive t-shirt.

Packet Pick-Up Info:

Packet Pick-Up (t-shirts and bibs) takes place at the Southington Community YMCA, 29 High Street, Southington, CT 06489

Friday, October 4th--  8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Saturday, October 5th   --  8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sunday, October 6th--  7 a.m. to 8 a.m.

If you qualified for free t-shirt (First 750 for 5 Mile, 5K, Y CUP, 2 Mile) and first 250 for Little Fritter Fun Runs), we recommend that you pick up 'sooner than later on above dates/times' so you can be assured of your desired t-shirt size)
