Apple Harvest Festival Road Races
New and Improved - Y Cup 1 Mile Run

4th/5th Grade Boys & Girls

WHAT IS THE Y CUP?
• A one mile run in conjunction with our Apple Harvest Festival Road Races
• Points will be awarded to boys and girls for 4th and 5th grade levels who finish in the top 8 of their respective divisions. The winning team will be awarded the Y Cup to keep in their school for a year.
• All Y Cup Runners will meet at DePaolo Middle School by 8:00 a.m.
• After registration, Y Cup Runners will be escorted to the 2.1-mile mark on the 5K Course (Woodruff St) where they will begin at approximately 9:15 a.m. and run to the finish line on Main Street.

DIVISIONS
• Separate boy and girl divisions for 4th and 5th graders in Southington schools

REGISTRATION
• Fill out the registration form with parent/guardian signature and return to your school’s main office before Monday, September 30th
• Registration after the 30th must be done at the YMCA. Day of registrations will not be accepted.
• Cost: $15 per person before September 30th. $20 per person between October 1st and October 5th
• Checks should be made out to the ‘Southington Community YMCA’
• All participants will get a t-shirt and finishers medal

WHAT IS THE Y CUP?
•    An exciting addition to our Apple Harvest Festival Road Race festivities
•    It’s a relay for 4th and 5th graders to get involved in the 5 K Race (3.1 miles) with students running legs of 1 mile, 1 mile, and 1.1 miles
•    Points will be awarded to boy and girl teams for 4th and 5th-grade levels.  The winning team will be awarded the Y Cup to keep in their school for a year.  Thalberg Elementary School is the current champ.

DIVISIONS
•    Separate boy and girl divisions
•    Separate 4th and 5th-grade divisions
•    Mixed teams accepted, however, their placing will NOT be counted towards Y CUP points
