Meet Coach Alyssa!

"My name is Alyssa Lombardi and I am the Running Crew Coach. I have been running for 10+ years starting with track in high school and then moving on to competing in both cross country and track at Keene State College. I have found a passion for coaching and running and have continued to train and compete in races after college. I was initially a soccer player who ran track in high school but realized that with consistent training that I could steadily improve.

Like a lot of runners I started out training at 12 minute miles and 15 miles a week and with steady progress have been able to progress to 8 minute miles and as many as 60 miles a week while avoiding injury. This steady progress allowed me to improve my 5k time from over 23:00 minutes my freshman year at Keene to 19:04 my senior year. I was also Little East Conference 3k and 5k champ in track, all LEC in cross country and All New England D3.

I graduated from Keene in 2017 with a Bachelor degree in exercise science and received my Master’s degree in exercise and sport science from Merrimack College in May. I have coached in the Race for Chase program, at the high school level and am currently an Exercise Physiologist at a local healthcare facility. My favorite quote is “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard” by Tim Notke."
